Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hull Structural Engineer to join our engineering team in Kochi, India. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in structural analysis and design of ships and offshore structures and proficiency finite element analysis (FEA). This role will involve collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the structural integrity, safety, and performance of various maritime and offshore projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Analysis:
- Conduct structural analysis and design of ship hulls, platforms, and other offshore structures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant classification societies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform fatigue and fracture analysis to ensure long-term durability and safety.
- Finite Element Analysis:
- Perform detailed finite element analysis (FEA) on ship hulls and offshore structures.
- Develop and validate FEA models to assess structural performance under various loading conditions.
- Interpret FEA results and provide recommendations for design improvements and optimizations.
- Project Collaboration:
- Collaborate with naval architects, marine engineers, and other stakeholders to develop innovative and efficient structural designs.
- Provide technical support during construction, installation, and maintenance phases of projects.
- Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and client consultations.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, design documentation, and analysis summaries.
- Present findings and recommendations to internal teams and external clients.
- Maintain accurate records of design changes, analysis results, and project progress.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in finite element analysis, structural engineering, and maritime industry trends.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance engineering processes and outcomes.
- Participate in professional development activities and training programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Naval Architecture, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in hull structural engineering, with a focus on finite element analysis and the design of ships and offshore structures.
- Proficiency in finite element analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, FEMAP, NASTRAN, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and classification society rules (e.g., ABS, DNV, LR, etc.).
- Experience with CAD software and structural design tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Working Conditions:
- Office environment in Kochi, with occasional travel to shipyards, offshore platforms, or client sites as required.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
